The Avalon Hospice program in Flint, Michigan was founded in 1981 with a shared vision of providing outstanding end of life care to the community.  We at Odyssey feel that both companies will benefit greatly by our joining together.  Staffed by over 100 dedicated employees, the Avalon Hospice program boasts a beautiful 12-bed inpatient unit and provides hospice services to patients in 7 Michigan counties, wherever they call "home".  We are very excited about the opportunity to expand our operations in Michigan into the community of Flint and welcome the new Avalon employees into the Odyssey family.  Blanche Watkins, Avalon’s former CEO, will be remain as the Executive Director and we will continue to operate under the Avalon name in Flint.  The staff that you have come to know and count on will continue to service your patients and loved ones.
