Our
leadership team consists of more than just a group with excellent
credentials. Each of our staff members came to our organization
because of a deep commitment to our compassionate care mission.
Read below to meet just a handful of the individuals who work both
directly with patients/residents and behind the scenes to ensure
that our organization delivers excellent care, and learn what they
love about being a part of Avalon Hospice.
We
pride ourselves on being self-directed. We want the staff to be
pleased and comfortable, and empowered to make an impact. It's a
structured environment, but very informal. We foster a culture of
service excellence. We want to continue to learn how to have our
service exceed everyone's expectations. That's what sets us apart!
Our Leadership

Blanche
Watkins, Interim President/CEO
"We manage our finances in a responsible way so that we can
do more for the families. The fact that we're non-profit means
we have more freedom to make the best decisions for the patients,
and we can go above and beyond because our focus is not the
bottom line, or making money. Everything goes to the patient."

Jennifer Dowd, "Avalon
employees display a level of caring
and compassion that exceeds their
basic job expectations. I am both
impressed and inspired by their
dedication. These employees chose to
work at Avalon for much more than
simply a pay check. From maintenance
employees to direct care staff,
patient care is the ultimate goal
and the driving force of Avalon
employees." |

Candy Leitheim,
Volunteer
Manager
“I am so proud of our volunteers.
They’re willing to give their gift
of time without expecting anything
in return. I feel a sense of
accomplishment knowing that what I
do helps improve the quality of life
for someone at the end of life”. |

Carole Tibbetts,
Residence Team Manager/North
Team Manager
"The most rewarding aspect is the feedback
you receive from families. We were able to ease their minds,
and they tell us it was a beautiful experience."
