Our teams of nurses live out a spirit of excellence in their day-to-day interactions with their patients/residents.

The nursing staff is intently focused on palliative care and symptom management. In order for nurses to determine the best way that comfort can be reached, an assessment is completed as soon as a patient/resident enters hospice. This assessment is reviewed daily so that patients/residents are kept free of pain even as their condition may change. Nurses review patients'/residents' charts, consult regularly with physicians, administer medications, arrange alternative therapies, and see to the overall ease of patients/residents and their family members.

In our residence, Skilled Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and a variety of volunteers are on hand at all times for all twelve patients/residents. We adjust our staff as special needs arise. The level of personal care available means that patients/residents are constantly afforded a maximum amount of individual attention!

"The people that come here start out fearful because they don't know what to expect. Soon, they realize that it's not so different from living on the outside. They start to relax, and they calm down. People who come here have been trying to deal with pain management for years, and we're experts in pain management. The families come to trust us, and they need us to be very truthful with them. We almost become a part of the family. Even after their loved one has passed on, they send us all kinds of correspondences."
